About Toitū Te Whenua LINZ

Land Information New Zealand (LINZ) is the government’s lead agency for property and location information, Crown property and managing overseas investment – working across land, sea, data and regulatory areas.

Their responsibilities include managing land titles, geodetic and cadastral survey systems, topographic information, hydrographic information, managing Crown property and supporting government decision-making around foreign ownership.

Toitū Te Whenua LINZ has a role in the Fast-track process

Fast-track applications for land mining activities may need to get an access arrangement to operate on Crown land. LINZ will provide advice to the expert panel on these applications as required.

LINZ may also support the Department of Conservation to provide the panel with reports and other information about land exchanges.

The Fast-track process guides applicants

If you make a Fast-track application, the application forms explain the information needed. The Fast-track team will help applicants connect with the right people at the relevant government agencies.
