Infrastructure Minister Chris Bishop and Regional Development Minister Shane Jones announced three applications have been deemed complete and in-scope by the Fast-track team.

The Fast-track applications process comes into operation today to help deliver infrastructure and development projects with significant regional or national benefits. It offers a permanent way to obtain resource consent and a wide range of other approvals.

Today marks the official start of the Fast-track Approvals regime to make it quicker and easier to build the projects New Zealand needs to grow its economy, Infrastructure and RMA Reform Minister Chris Bishop and Regional Development Minister Shane Jones say.

The Government has appointed retired Environment Court Judge Jane Borthwick as Panel Convener, and Helen Atkins and Jennifer Caldwell as Associate Panel Conveners.

To assist the panel convener in their appointment of panel members, the Fast-track team is identifying a pool of potential candidates with relevant knowledge, skills, and expertise.
